Udhaar Book, which calls itself a super app for Pakistan’s small businesses, has raised $6 million in seed funding from multiple investors to digitise merchant functions such as ledger management.
Investors in Udhaar Book’s recent round include Pakistan’s Fatima Gobi Ventures (FGV), Plaid co-founder William Hockey’s Muir Capital, Tinder co-founder Justin Mateen’s JAM Fund, Commerce Ventures, Liberty City Ventures, Atlas Ventures, Integra Partners, Omri Dahan who is a C-level executive at US-based card issuing company Marqeta, and Immad Akhund, CEO and founder of Mercury Bank.
The seed round was the first institutional round raised by Udhaar Book, and Profit was able to verify and confirm that the amount raised was $6 million but was not raised in one go.
